Changing My Internet Marketing Strategy

While I’ve had some success building an affiliate marketing business, I have’t achieved the results I’d hoped for so I felt it was time to go in a new direction .

Being badly organized doesn’t help. Tasks get dealt with more or less as they arise rather than me prioritizing them on a daily basis and tackling the most important ones first.

That inevitably means I may end up spending more time on a trivial task than an important one and so business suffers as a result .

Some things, of course, you just have to take care of, like paying bills. I suppose the problems that occur when you’re not attentive to such matters are a big enough stick to get you to deal with them quickly when possible .

If I could approach certain aspects of my online business with that urgency, I think I’d be in a better position.

I realized that I needed to change my internet marketing strategy and that’s where Alex Jeffreys comes in. In a sense, I’ve hired him to become my internet marketing mentor by joining his coaching program. It took quite a while for me to understand that there’s only so far you can go on your own. To progress beyond that point you need a mentor, a teacher .

His course began a couple of weeks ago and consists of weekly 4-hour webinars, roughly half of which is devoted to a Q&A session with members. The first webinar, Forward To Basics, gave we students a whole new mind-set in how to run a business and this is the groundwork upon which all else is built . This involves learning time management skills and being able to set realistic goals and make plans for them.

As a bit of homework, Alex has asked his students to build their own blogs. This establishes them as an online presence so they can start to build authority for themselves over time. Since students of all levels are in his coaching program, some will be out of their depth with such a task. However, additional training is provided in the members area for those who need it and the active community of former students are willing to give a hand to anyone who has difficulties .

I surmise that Jeffreys’ course is going to raise some difficulties for me as I think I’m going to have to unlearn some ways of doing things, and likely some bad habits too! But I’m very positive about the course. Alex has provided some great information so far and the plan he’s laid out for our future is very exciting.

Read my progress reports here as I follow Alex Jeffreys’ training.
